Great sushi for takeout! This has quickly become our go-to place for delivery (both on DoorDash and SkiptheDishes). Love their spicy avocado roll and the fish here is amazingly fresh, and well priced. The Tempura, Takoyaki and their Chicken Karaage are also fantastic!

Chicken and beef bento boxes offer a good variety of items.

First time coming here, I ordered the following, Salmon Maki, Yam tempura roll, beef teriyaki roll, prawn/pork gyoza and chicken karagge. The food is tasty and fresh. I like trying something new in the prawn/pork gyoza and its great! Also, the chicken karagge is not too greasy like the other places I have tried. Will recommend friends and family to go here.

Great food, best sushi in town!

Very fresh sushi. Service is great and the quality is always consistently good! Definitely a gem in the neighbourhood.

FYI - there's only 5 tables at this place so best to make reservations (they told us 20 min? But we waited close to 40 min). Anyways what did I think of the food? Oyster motoyaki - oyster was very small, it felt more like a mushroom and spinach motoyaki than an oyster motoyaki. Don't recommend. Takara special was not bad. I liked the chef selection of nigiri and chef roll (mango and tuna can go well together). The spicy sashimi was OK in taste; it's not spicy but that's because when I think spicy sashimi I'm imagining the spicy Korean red sauce. Miso black Cod was very flavourful but portion wise on the small side. Atlantic roll was not alright. I liked the smokiness of the aburi salmon on top. Fresh snapper tempura was a let down. I would recommend ordering regular tempura. Fois Gras aburi - I think it's a little hyped for what it's supposed to be? So after having all this variety, would I go back? Nah, I pass. Tong Tong says Meh.

Clean environment, good rolls, fresh ingredients, good service. The portions are smaller than what you normally see but there's a reason for that as the food is very good.

Very authentic Japanese sushi place. The proportion of rice is perfect and the ingredients are very fresh and high quality. The shrimp tempura is so crunchy and didn't get soft in the roll. Extemely tasty meal! Very easy for pick up with the parking in the back and the waitress was very kind to offer to meet me at the door. Will definitely be my go to for traditional sushis.

I’m new to burnaby and have been trying sushi places in the area. Takara is hands down the best I’ve had! Great value and flavour! I will be back soon, maybe tomorrow, thank you!!

Food is actually decent in taste. However, it was not fresh; had a diarrhea after. Not a pleasant experience and will not be a returning customer

Price and food

Everything was very fresh and tasty, but prices are on the pricier side. The foie gois is a must try for $5/pc, it just melts in your mouth.

Come here to enjoy delicious, reasonably priced sushi in a safe, clean environment with friendly service & good vibes. I recommend the house roll and the Salmon Belly Aburi, which were both fantastic!

Delicious!! Everything was fresh and a great selection of what Vancouver has to offer for sushi. I particularly like the soft shell crab and their foie gras nigiri. Solid food and affordable value.

Small place with a local vibe. Staff are extra nice, sushi is fantastic (especially the dragon roll), and price is great. Definitely make a reservation on a weekend.

I’ve eaten at a lot of Japanese restaurants in Vancouver and I got to say this is one of the best. Eaten here over 10 times now, each time it’s consistent and the sushi is always fresh. Food is 10/10. Interior is beautiful. Super clean and the staffs are friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Great food and value. Loved the Tokyo Roll! They had some interesting, unique food items that most restaurants don't have such as soft shell prawn. Looking forward to trying the red snapper tempura and tako karaage next time.

paid $11 for a small handful salad and a string piece of crab that they claim to be real. Everything else is decent but dont order the salad!!

The best sushi ship in burnaby

We are very picky when it comes to sushi and this place did not disappoint. It is very clean, super friendly staff, has delicious and well-priced food plus, the sake is no to shabby. We are now new regulars :)

My favourite sushi place. Prices are on the higher side, but you’re definitely paying for quality. Their rice is delicious, fish is fresh & the soy they use on their nigiri & rice bowls tastes so good. Highly recommend them.

I highly recommend coming here! This has been my go to place for high quality sushi. Everything on the menu is fresh and the staff are friendly they make sure you are accommodated right away. Also, the interior of this place is super clean with a beautiful ambiance and very spacious.

I definitely made a mistake coming here for pickup as the sushi (California roll, kappa roll and smoked salmon roll) tasted fishy and day old. I tried adding more soy sauce but it did not help. The salad was okay but not fresh. The tempura was missing flavor. I think i am going to go back to my regular sushi place. They say you never know until you try...

Ordered Kappa Maki, California Roll and Smoke Salmon Roll. We eat one piece each and left it, had a fishy taste. The Garden Salad, Yam Tampura and Shrimp Tampura were nice. We definitely will not be returning.

Wow just wow, we visited the Takara last week and I’ve been raving about it to everyone. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with delicious and fresh fish flown in from japan. This is my new go to spot, thanks again Tommy! We’ll be back again! (With more people)

Takara Sushi is not your average Japanese restaurant. We had such a positive experience. Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves and appreciates fresh, high quality sushi! The salmon oshi was my favorite! Love this place!

It is rare to be able to find a sushi joint that similar to authentic Japanese sushi. Well done. Will come back again.
